Fierce footwear at the 2011 BET Awards

Last night the Annual 2011 BET Awards were held Live at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA. All faired well in the LA heat on BET’s Live! Red! Ready! red carpet which was held prior to the festivities.

The BET Awards have always been the ‘wayward maverick’ of award shows because this is where fashion rules and trends are pushed to the limit to accommodate personal style. The fierce footwear in embellished metallics, muted hues and ‘pops’ of color made statements all night long.

Among those who walked the Live! Red! Ready! red carpet were Joyful Drake, Tracee Ellis Ross and Lola Monroe. Joyful Blake graced the red carpet sporting a white, strapless gown paired with Signature Repore heels whereas Lola Monroe opted for a Ferragamo dress paired with shoes by Naraj. Patti LaBelle and Tracee Ellis Ross chose the shoe master, crafter of high heels to complete their red carpet looks, Christian Louboutin.

Patti LaBelle was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award by Gladys Knight recognizing her outstanding 50 year career. She shined while performing amid all the glitz and glamour in her navy-blue satin A-line lab coat, over a intricately designed navy-blue mini dress and emerald green, satin Christian Louboutin Peeptoe Slingbacks. FLAWLESS!

Beyonce closed the show with a international performance which streamed Live from the Glastonbury Festival in England and in true Beyonce form she performed to perfection in high heeled stiletto, ankle booties.
