Until the first half of this year, Vietnam’s footwear export turnover has hit record high which reached nearly US$3 billion, up 31 percent over the same period last year.
Only in the June, the export earning make a new high, that is, a six-month record high of more than US$610 million. This is the first time since early this year footwear exports have surpassed the US$600 million mark for each month.
The Vietnam Leather and Footwear Association (Lafaso) shows that businesses have received orders until the end of the third quarter and signed a number of contracts for the fourth quarter.
The number of export orders for this year has risen 20 percent over last year (The price value of contracts up 7-10 percent) thanks to a sharp increase in bulk orders from importers.
