                    Maintain shoes in winter

1 Regular cleaning: It’s very important to clean, condition, polish, and preserve shoes. Always clean your footwear before you wear them, keep a check on their condition, polish them regularly and preserve them from water, mud and

dust.

2 Polishing basics: Liquid polishes are easiest to use but they can dry out shoe leather and can cause cracking. So, cream polish is a better option. Remember to always apply matching colour polish to your shoes. Shoes with a nap such as suede or nubuck, shouldn’t be polished.

3 Cautious cleaning: If you are in a hurry, remove excess dirt with a cloth and/or a brush and then apply the liquid shine evenly to your shoes. Use toothbrush, mild soap and water to clean sneakers made from canvas.

4 Store them right: To retain the shape of shoes, store them using a shoe tree. In case you don’t have shoe tree, stuff the toe cap with newspaper or tissue. Never store leather shoes near direct sunlight.

5 If wet, let shoes dry: If your shoes get wet, allow them to dry completely before wearing them again. Stuff your wet shoes with newspapers to help them retain their shape. Once your shoes have completely dried, keep keep them in a spacious shoe closet.
